Getting Ready to Discuss an Insurance Offer
An insurance offer may arrive before you understand the full effect of an injury or the terms of a proposed release. If you want Crockett Law to review it, gather the offer and the records that help explain your situation.
Bring the Offer and the Proposed Agreement
Save the complete written offer, any release, and the correspondence that came with it. If the offer was made over the phone, note the date, the person you spoke with, and what you were told. A payment amount alone does not explain everything an agreement may resolve.
Identify the Insurance Involved
Tell us whether you are dealing with your own insurer or another person’s insurance company. Bring policy documents if you have them, along with the claim number and relevant letters. Those situations can raise different questions about coverage, duties, and the available legal options.
Organize the Supporting Records
Bring available incident reports, photographs, treatment information, medical bills, and missed-work records. Tell us about ongoing care and expenses that are still developing. Keep copies of requests the insurer has made and information you have submitted.
Ask About the Terms and Next Steps
Questions may include what the release covers, whether further records are needed, and what options exist if you do not accept. We review the proposal in the context of the evidence and your circumstances. A consultation does not guarantee a larger offer or a particular result.
If your own insurer has denied or delayed a claim, our bad faith insurance page explains how we approach those disputes. Call (281) 953-1180 to request a free consultation before making a decision you do not understand.
